In a statement, the company said it will source U.S.-made steel and convert it to line pipe at its two Gulf Coast facilities. 

“This project is extremely important to the U.S. economy, and its national interest as it further reduces the need to import oil from unstable regions in the world,” said Berg president and chief executive Ingo Riemer. 
 
The company said the contract will keep hundreds of Berg’s employees in Mobile, Ala., and in Panama City, Fla., USA, busy into next year.
 
“We are very fortunate to not only provide continued employment at our facilities during this pandemic, but to also contribute to the extended economic and employment impact within our communities.”
