Biden Weighs in on U. S. Steel Acquisition
03/14/2024 - U.S. President Joe Biden is opposed to Nippon Steel Corp.’s planned acquisition of United States Steel Corporation, saying Thursday that it is important that the U.S. maintain “strong American steel companies powered by American steel workers,” according to the Associated Press.
“U. S. Steel has been an iconic American steel company for more than a century, and it is vital for it to remain an American steel company that is domestically owned and operated,” Biden said in a statement.
