In a statement, Berry Metal said work is underway on the package as well as the lime injection system, which are to be installed and commissioned in the first quarter of 2021. 

Berry Metal said the chemical energy package includes custom-designed oxygen-gas burners housed in water-cooled boxes and valve stands. 

“Our patented V-Max™ Burner Technology maximizes the oxygen and natural gas mix, providing increased penetration into the bath, to ensure optimum chemical energy for the EAF,” said Berry Metal president David Werner. 

The lime injection system combines Berry Metal’s patented lime injectors and the pneumatic conveyance system know-how of Berry Metal partner Nol-Tec Systems.
