Barry Zekelman Returning as CEO of JMC Steel Group
02/14/2013 - JMC Steel Group announced that chief executive officer, Frank A. Riddick III, is leaving the company to pursue other matters and that Barry Zekelman, executive chairman, is returning to the office of CEO, effective immediately.

"We want to thank Frank for all his hard work and contributions while at JMC and wish him well in all his future endeavors," said Mr. Zekelman.
Barry Zekelman was appointed executive chairman of JMC Steel Group in March 2010. Prior to serving as executive chairman of JMC Steel Group, Mr. Zekelman held the position of chief operating officer and was promoted to chief executive officer and president of JMC in 2008. Mr. Zekelman and his brothers, Alan and Clayton, are the principal owners of JMC.
"I am excited and energized by this new development. I feel very comfortable being back in the driver's seat. My brothers and I are very passionate about this business and believe strongly in the future of JMC," added Zekelman.
Mr. Zekelman has devoted his entire business career to the development of Atlas Tube, JMC and the structural tube and pipe industry.
Mr. Zekelman began his career at Atlas Tube, assuming ownership with his brothers with his father's sudden passing in 1986. Mr. Zekelman's primary role at Atlas was the provision of strategic and commercial leadership. Under Mr. Zekelman's direction, the business grew from US$2 million in sales to over $1.2 billion in sales. In 2006, as CEO, chairman and president of Atlas Tube, Mr. Zekelman merged Atlas Tube with JMC. Under his leadership, JMC has become the largest independent manufacturer of pipe and tube in North America processing over 2 million tons of steel annually with sales in excess of $2 billion per year.
