Baowu Selects Tenova for Two Projects
11/14/2024 - Pomini Tenova announced today it has signed two contracts with China Baowu Steel Group Corp. Ltd. during the 7th China International Import Expo Signing Ceremony of China Baowu International Procurement held in Shanghai, China.
In a press release, Tenova said the first contract is for a set of four automatic CNC roll grinders with two automatic inspection stations and an automatic roll loading system with two loaders. These are to be installed at a plant where two new cold rolling mills for silicon steel will be in operation. The second contract comprises two automatic CNC roll grinders with an automatic inspection station and automatic roll loading system, to be installed in the roll shop of a new cold rolling mill for silicon steel production.
Both roll shops are designed for advanced automation, ensuring that all operations are fully segregated and require no human intervention.
Zhang Qing, chairman of OBEI, said, “Pomini Tenova has built a long-standing, successful partnership with Baowu, working together on multiple plants and a variety of applications. Pomini’s advanced technology is trusted by Baowu, and we are confident it will bring the same high performance to these new projects in electrical steel for next-generation energy vehicles.”
