Baosteel Starts Up Continuous Galvanizing Line
07/28/2016 - A new continuous galvanizing line at China’s Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has processed its first coil.
Designated as the No. 2 line, it was designed to annually galvanize 465,000 metric tons of strip steels for the automotive and home appliance markets in southern China and southeast Asia, according to Primetals Technologies.
Primetals was awarded the contract for the line in 2013. It said the line is capable of processing strips in widths of between 900 and 1,860 mm and in thicknesses of between 0.45 to 2.3 mm.
