Baosteel Orders Fifth Robot System From Primetals Technologies
03/11/2020 - Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has commissioned two of Primetals Technologies’ LiquiRob systems at its Meishan facility and ordered another for its Zhanjiang facility, Primetals Technologies said.
After the successful commissioning of two LiquiRob systems at the company’s Shanghai plant in 2018, Baoteel ordered two further LiquiRob systems for the Meishan plant.
Commissioning of the two systems at the Meishan plant only took four to five days. The systems, for CCM4 and CCM3, provide tundish temperature measurement, O2 content measurement and steel sampling, as well as oxygen lancing and tundish powder handling.
The positive results at the Shanghai and Meishan plants prompted an additional order for a fifth LiquiRob system at Baosteel Zhanjiang.
