Baosteel, Tianjin Sign Cold-Rolled Sheet Design Contract
11/29/2011 - According to the recently signed contract, Baosteel Engineering will design for Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group a cold-rolled sheet deep-processing setup, including a set of 1550 cold-rolling lines with 1.7 million tonnes of output.
Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group recently signed a cold-rolling sheets deep-processing design contract. Baosteel Engineering General Manager Jiang Weimin, Tianjin Metallurgical Group Chairman Zeng Xiaoping, and Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group Chairman Wang Tianxu attended the signing ceremony.
According to the contract, Baosteel Engineering will design for Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group cold-rolled sheet deep-processing, including a set of 1550 cold-rolling lines with 1.7 million tonnes of output.
The cold-rolled sheet deep-processing project is part of one of the major projects of Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group second-phase construction. Located in Tianjin Dagang Economic Development Area, it has 2 million tonnes of designed annual capacity. Product applications include appliance panels, high-grade building materials, car plates, car parts, and structural parts. Projects concerning the second phase are expected to begin next year.
Tianjin Metallurgical No.1 Steel Group is a state-controlled steel union with sintering, iron making, steelmaking, rolling, trading, and logistics capabilities. It has an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes of iron, 3.5 million tonnes of steel, and 5 million tonnes of material. The Group has seven business entities and 12,000 employees.
