Austrian Equipment Manufacturer Secures Record Order

The order is from China's Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., a unit of Hebei Iron & Steel. The equipment will service new rolling mills to be built as part of a plant relocation and modernization project, according to BRAUN.

Under the project, Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel is moving its steel plant from Shijiazhuang, the capital city of the steelmaking Hebei province, and building anew at a site about 70 km away.

The company has ordered four of BRAUN's TS 16 F machines for a medium bar mill and two of its TS 12 FP machines for a small bar mill.

BRAUN said it faced stiff competition for the order, but it ultimately was successful because of past experience and reputation -- it has sold equipment to other well-known producers in China and elsewhere.

The machines will be manufactured at BRAUN's parent plant in Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria. Manufacturing of peripheral assemblies will be done in China, the company said. Delivery is scheduled for the end of August 2016, and the equipment is to be put into service by the end of that year.
