Attala Steel Beam Mill Features Danieli Universal Roll Stands
07/23/2007 - Attala Steel Industries, Kosciusko, Miss., recently started up its new wide-flange beam rolling mill with two heavy-duty SHS-U universal housingless finish stands supplied by Danieli.
Attala Steel Industries, Kosciusko, Miss., recently started up its new rolling mill, which is configured to produce wide-flange beams at an average rate of 25 tons per hour.
The mill comprises a 30-ton/hour reheat furnace, three-high roughing stand, and two Universal finishing stands, as well as an edging stand, cooling bed, and finishing services.
Danieli supplied two new heavy-duty SHS-U universal housingless finish stands. The stands feature 720- and 460-mm maximum roll diameters for the horizontal and vertical rolls set, respectively.
Some of the remaining equipment for this innovative and compact plant was designed and manufactured by Attala Steel, and some was procured on the used-equipment market.
