ATI Operations, USW Reach Tentative Agreement
08/02/2011 - United Steelworkers, ATI Allegheny Ludlum and ATI’s Albany, Ore., titanium operations have reached tentative four-year agreements covering approximately 3,000 employees.
Allegheny Technologies Inc. reports that the United Steelworkers (USW) and ATI Allegheny Ludlum and ATI’s Albany, Ore., titanium operations have reached tentative four-year agreements covering approximately 3,000 employees.
If ratified, the agreements will expire on June 30, 2015. The existing contracts have been extended and are effective through August 8, 2011.
The news follows a late-July vote in which USW members rejected an earlier contract that had called for wage increases and lump sum cash payments, increased pensions, improvements to various contract language provisions and health care benefits for current employees.
Allegheny Technologies Inc. is one of the largest and most diversified specialty metals producers with revenues, including Ladish, of approximately $4.7 billion for the last twelve months. ATI’s products include titanium and titanium alloys, nickel-based alloys and superalloys, grain-oriented electrical steel, stainless and specialty steels, zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tungsten materials, forgings, castings, and fabrication and machining capabilities.
