Asian Steelmaker Starts Up New Cold Mill
11/16/2017 - Vietnam’s Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company has rolled the first coil on its new reversing cold mill at its plant in the province of Binh Duong, according the equipment supplier on the project.
According to SMS group, the new mill has an annual capacity of 200,000 tons and is capable of rolling strips in widths of up to 1,250 mm.
SMS said the mill is equipped with its CVCplus roll-shifting technology, its X-Shape flatness measuring and control system, and an X-Pact electronics and automation package.
“This successful commissioning completes the third full-line supply of a cold rolling mill to Nam Kim Steel by Esmech Equipment Pvt. Ltd. together with SMS India, both companies of SMS group. All three projects have been performed to the full satisfaction of this aspiring Vietnamese cold strip producer,” the company said in a statement.
