According to a press release from Danieli, the new processing lines will be integrated into its Q3-PREMIUM predictive quality system along with the facility’s existing continuous tandem mill.
 
Danieli said the furnace will handle cold-forming, structural, microalloyed and hot-rolled strip steel grades, and with low-NOx burners and a waste gas heat recovery system, the plant will operate at low emissions levels. The hot-dip galvanizing line will process 200,000 metric tons per year of incoming coils.
 
Start-up is expected by the end of 2022. The new lines will comply with the standards of the European Union’s Green Deal.
