ArcelorMittal USA Forms Digitalization Steering Committee
01/20/2020 - Looking for competitive advantages, ArcelorMittal USA has begun to embrace industry digitalization and has created a steering committee to guide its efforts at its U.S. plants.
In a blog post on its website, the company said the committee is made up of ArcelorMittal USA chief technology officer Al Barsophy, process automation division manager Jim Hendrickson and Jerry Yothment, ArcelorMittal USA general manager, IT.
“There is no question that digitalization is going to enable us to solve problems that in the past were not solvable,” said Barsophy.
“As these technologies mature and we learn where to apply these powerful problem-solving approaches, digitalization will start contributing significantly to our USA bottom line,” he added.
