ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava Names New CEO
12/12/2012 - The new CEO of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava with effect from 1 December is Libor Černý, who had been the CEO in ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions Czech Republic (AMDS CR).
The new CEO of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava with effect from 1 December is Libor Černý, who had been the CEO in ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions Czech Republic (AMDS CR). He replaces Otto Mischinger, who at the same time takes up the position of the COO of the Energy division in ArcelorMittal Tubular Products.
Libor Černý joined Ostrava's Nová Huť in 1992. He worked for 10 years in the Research & Development Department, and starting from 2002 he led leading the Technical Development Department and later the Project Management Department. In 2009 he was appointed CEO of AMDS in Ostrava, in 2012 he became the CEO in AMDS Czech Republic and Slovakia. Libor Černý is a graduate of the Technical University of Ostrava, the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. He bears the title of Engineer in the field of Thermal Technology, and the title of Ph.D. in the field of Metal-Forming Processes.
ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava a.s. is the largest producer of tubes in the Czech Republic. The most important products are seamless tubes — smooth, threaded, flanged, and OCTG. The company further produces spirally welded tubes for gas industry. The annual production capacity of seamless and welded tubes is 320,000 tonnes. ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava has 1047 employees and it is a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava produces iron and steel in compliance with all environmental legislation. It already conforms to the EU best available techniques (BAT) emission limits that are to be binding only from 2016 onwards. The sole shareholder is ArcelorMittal Holdings A.G.
