ArcelorMittal Subsidiary Plans Upgrades to French Plate Mill
03/17/2017 - Danieli has won a contract to upgrade the plate mill at Industeel France’s Le Creusot plant.
In a statement, Danieli said the project is intended to improve the mill’s descaling abilities, necessary to meet increasing demand for high-quality surfaces on rolled products. Danieli also said the project will improve the plant’s maintainability.
To that end, Danieli will upgrade the primary and secondary descalers and install a DanHYD technological package, which includes a new pumping room, hydraulic valves, redesigned ramps and nozzles, and a new electromechanical lifting system for the top header. The package also includes a dedicated automation system.
“This will allow an increased descaling pressure with higher impact force, a larger spray width, more flexible valve control and efficient power management at pumps,” Danieli said in a statement.
Danieli will oversee the design, installation and commissioning.
The plant specializes in producing high-quality, flat-rolled and forged products for the aerospace, defense and nuclear sectors. Industeel is a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal.
