ArcelorMittal Signs Danieli for Rolling Mill Build
10/06/2022 - ArcelorMittal has contracted Danieli for a new rolling mill and reheat furnace for its Barra Mansa Works in Brazil, the plant builder has announced.
Danieli said the mill will feature 15 housingless stands, a rake-type cooling bed with a water-cooling system and heat-retaining hoods, and a multi-strand straightening machine with a quick-changing device.
The mill will be fed by a Danieli Centro Combustion walking beam furnace, and Danieli Automation will supply process control and other systems.
The mill will be capable of annually producing 400,000 tons of bars and medium sections. Start-up is expected in mid-2024.
