ArcelorMittal Prepares to Launch New High-Strength Auto Steel
06/06/2016 - ArcelorMittal is preparing to roll out a new high-strength automotive steel later this year, reports the (London) Financial Times.
Called Usibor 2000, the automotive steel is approximately 33 percent stronger than what’s available now. The company plans to introduce the product in Europe by the end of this year. The U.S. launch will follow in 2017, the Financial Times reported.
The product has a high tensile strength and was developed to save weight in vehicular structural and safety components.
