The US$25 million investment was approved by the Investment Allocation Committee in the second quarter of this year. The company claims that this investment will help reduce the site's emissions and improve air quality, even exceeding requirements stipulated by national governing law.
During their recent visit, Water, Public Services and Environment Minister, Antonio Ciancio, together with Environment Secretary César Mackler and Environment Director for the Province of Santa Fe, Edgardo Seguro, toured the Villa Constitución facilities and met with key specialists from both within and outside the company to learn more about the technical specificities of this project, and its expected impact.
The new extracting devices should be operational by late 2012 and are expected to be twice as efficient as previous ones.
Commenting on the project, Minister Ciancio said that "the investment by the company is the result of coordinated and efficient work" and commended "the company's proactive approach, as well its commitment to further consolidating its production and sustainability."
