ArcelorMittal Names New North American Chief Executive
07/27/2016 - ArcelorMittal veteran Robrecht Himpe has been named chief executive of ArcelorMittal North America, the steelmaker has announced.
His appointment took effect 1 July. Himpe had been serving as chief executive of ArcelorMittal’s AM/NS Calvert joint venture plant in Alabama. He will continue to work out of Alabama and will continue to oversee the plant, in addition to his new duties.
"ArcelorMittal North American organization will continue to focus on developing synergies between our assets in Canada, the United States and Mexico to best meet customer demand and maximize value for ArcelorMittal," the company said in a statement.
