ArcelorMittal Liberia Wins Company of the Year 2014
02/03/2015 - ArcelorMittal has been named Liberia’s company of the year by Global News Network (GNN) Liberia in its “Who’s Who 2014” ranking.
The company was more specifically recognized for “drastically [impacting] the lives of thousands of Liberians through employment and its endless provision of scholarships.”
In a statement, GNN Liberia highlighted how the company’s significant investment in Liberia’s mining and transport infrastructure is helping the country to rebuild its economy after years of civil war. “[This] shows how responsible and transparent business practices and investment can bring long-term economic and social benefits to an emerging market,” GNN wrote.
Congratulations to CEO Antonio Carlos Maria, as well as the management, staff and contractors of ArcelorMittal Liberia for this great achievement.
GNN Liberia’s Who’s Who is published every year, honoring companies and personalities in 13 different categories. Winners this year include President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who won “Woman of the Year”.
The list is established following the submission of a list of nominees to GNN Liberia’s offices from both local and international public.
