PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih recently put into operation the overhauled sinter machine #5 in its steel production sinter shop.
Sinter machine #5 had been shut down for an overhaul on August 15, 2011. Modernization works included installation of trucks for the sintering process as well as a mixer-pelletizer, which will remove the vibration load on the floor of sinter.
During the repair of sinter machine #5, the company also installed a new dust collection system that will help to provide more efficient gas treatment.
Repairs of the sinter machine were completed at a total cost 12.6 million UAH over the established outage schedule of 35 days.
"The overhaul of sinter machine #5 of steel production of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is part of a complex modernization program in Sintering and Blast Furnace Department,” said Aleksandr Ioskov, Chief Production Officer of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. “Repairs were carried out as soon as possible.
"The overhaul of sinter machine #5 of steel production of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is part of a complex modernization program in Sintering and Blast Furnace Department,” said Aleksandr Ioskov, Chief Production Officer of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. “Repairs were carried out as soon as possible.
“We expect to improve the overall efficiency of the machine and reduce its unplanned downtime".
