ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih was recently awarded second place in the Ukraine’s Readers' Choice Award-2011 for the publication of its first Corporate Responsibility Report.

Fifteen Ukrainian companies took part in the competition, including Kyivstar, Ernst & Young–Ukraine, Foxtrot, SKM, Interpipe, Metinvest and others. Open voting for best non-financial report was organized at Readers' Choice Award website from October 6-21. The competition concluded with an award ceremony held on October 21, 2011 in Kyiv within CSR Marketplace-2011. Around 30 Ukrainian companies participated in the ceremony.

PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’s non-financial report 2010 features information on company activities in four key areas:

·         Investing in people — occupational health and safety, staff training and career development
·         Environmental management and investments
·         Transparent governance
·         The company’s contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and Kryvyi Rih city.

The company’s social report contains information about investment projects in these key areas as well as results that have been achieved to date. The report also describes an assessment system based on key performance indicators (KPI) that the company developed to help control its operational activities and achieve its strategic targets.

“Social report is systematic source of information about all projects of the company in this area,” said Anna Honcharyk, Corporate Communication Director of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. “In this document we say what and how we do to improve working and living conditions of our employees, to reduce our environmental footprint and make more comfortable the city and region where we operate. In this report we wanted to show total efforts of our social projects and their impact on our city. Recognition of these social projects is top position of our first CR report”.
