ArcelorMittal Blast Furnace to Return to Service, But Other Outages Planned
01/10/2020 - ArcelorMittal intends to put an idled blast furnace back into service at its Gijón plant in northern Spain, but will halt other production lines this quarter in order to cope with lower demand, reports Kallanish Steel.
“The decision to resume production at the BF2 is based on the need to restock after the period of shutdown due to the revamp of the Avilés steelworks and the start-up of the Gijón Coke Battery number 1 on 12 January,” ArcelorMittal told Kallanish.
However, other finishing lines in Spain are to be temporarily halted, Kallanish reported.
