ArcelorMittal Announces Changes to Management Committee

ArcelorMittal announced a number of changes to its Management Committee following the company’s Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.

The meeting was the last ArcelorMittal General Meeting to be chaired by Joseph Kinsch, who is retiring after a career of almost 50 years in the steel industry. Kinsch had been in charge of Arcelor from the time it was created in 2002, and later presided over the integration of Arcelor and Mittal Steel.

ArcelorMittal CEO Lakshmi Mittal, who will now also become the company’s Chairman, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kinsch for his contribution to the steel industry and ArcelorMittal, saying: “I have been working with him for over two years now and I have come to respect his determination, integrity and strength of character”.

In addition to the retirement of Joseph Kinsch, the board also recognized the expiration of mandate for Edmond Pachura, as well as the resignations of Romain Zaleski, Corporación JMAC B.V. and Manuel Fernandez Lopez from the Board of Directors.

New members appointed to the Management Committee are Robrecht Himpe (CEO Flat Europe) and Arnaud Poupart-Lafarge (Africa and CIS). Vijay Bhatnagar, who remains a member of the Management Committee, will be taking up new responsibilities as CEO of India.
