Angolan Steelmaker Cuts the Ribbon on New Mini-Mill
01/21/2016 - Angola’s Aceria de Angola has started producing steel at its new 500,000-tons-per-year mini-mill near the capital of Luanda.
The mill will produce rebar, wire rod and wire mesh to serve the construction market in Angola and neighboring countries.
The plant was built by Danieli, which supplied a shredder, melting furnaces, a ladle refining furnace and oxygen blowing stand, a fume treatment plant, a continuous billet caster, a reheating furnace, a rolling mill and meltshop auxiliaries, process cranes and a water treatment plant.
Construction began in 2013 and was completed in December 2015.
