ANDRITZ to Supply HDG and Annealing Equipment to Chinese Mill

The two new heat treatment lines have been designed to produce high-strength steel grades for the automotive industry. The order has a value of approximately € 50 million. Start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014.
The furnaces, which form the heart of the plant, are fitted with highly efficient low-NOx burners. In order to guarantee maximum cooling rates, the plant uses the DRJC (differential rapid jet cooling) fast cooling system patented by ANDRITZ METALS. DRJC sets new standards through highest cooling rates with constant and controlled cooling across the strip width. In addition, the new technology adjusts to the strip width, thus helping to save energy. The scope of supply also includes automation equipment and key process components, such as the zinc stripping jet and the shears. Both lines handle strip with thicknesses ranging from 0.2- to 2.5-mm and widths from 700- to 1,600-mm.
