ANDRITZ Receives Order for Train Wheel Production Line
10/08/2020 - EVRAZ joint venture Allegro has contracted ANDRITZ to supply a rail wheel production line capable of annually producing 200,000 train wheels.
In a statement, ANDRITZ said subsidiaries ANDRITZ Maerz and Schuler will build the line, which will be installed in the Titan Valley special economic zone in Russia.
The line represents a RUB16 billion (US$206.7 million) investment for Allegro, which was established to produce rail wheels.
“We are looking forward to reaching this milestone with ANDRITZ as the main supplier,” said EVRAZ vice president Denis
Novozhenov. “Production of train wheels requires highest competence and strict quality control, and this begins in production of the steel. The know-how from EVRAZ is vital to this project.”
