American Zinc Names Former AIST President as CCO
06/23/2020 - AIST past president and industry veteran William Breedlove has joined the senior leadership at American Zinc Recycling (AZR), an environmental services provider.
In a statement, AZR said Breedlove will serve as senior vice president and chief commercial officer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s sales operations. The appointment was effective last month.
“Breedlove is a strategic addition to our management team, bringing extensive experience and credentials,” said AZR president and chief executive Wayne Isaacs. “We look forward to leveraging his expertise and keen leadership as we continue to grow our position as the leading hazardous waste recycler.”
Breedlove is a past president of both AIST and the AIST Foundation, having served as the former from 2010 to 2011 and as the latter from 2005 to 2007. He has more than 30 years of experience in metals and mining services, and for the past five years, he led his own metals and mining consulting firm, Breedlove Consulting Services LLC.
“I’m delighted to bring my background to American Zinc Recycling, a company with a long history and a bright future in the steel industry,” said Breedlove. “AZR has incredible momentum, especially given the recent restart of production at its updated facility in Rutherford County, N.C., and I look forward to playing a pivotal part in guiding its growth.”
Breedlove has held a variety of leadership roles, including chief executive of Quality Magnetite LLC, a magnetite ore processing and distribution company that serviced the energy industry. He also has been president of Somerset Coal International Inc., a coal recovery and enhancement business, and executive vice president of marketing and business development at mill services provider Harsco Metals & Minerals.
Breedlove holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration management from The Pennsylvania State University.
