American Metal Market Announces 2015 Award Winners for Steel Excellence
06/17/2015 - Winners of the sixth annual American Metal Market Awards for Steel Excellence were announced 9 June 2015 at the annual Steel Awards Dinner held in conjunction with the Steel Success Strategies XXX conference.
“These 15 winners represent the best companies in their respective segments of the global steel industry, embodying innovation and ingenuity,” said Bristol Voss, editor-in-chief, AMM. “We had a record number of nominations for this year’s awards, and finalists represented world-class innovation in their respective fields. To be named a winner truly signifies excellence in products, processes and people.”
In addition to the presentation to the 15 category winners, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) was named the Industry Ambassador/Advocate of the Year for his dedication to strengthening and promoting America’s manufacturing base. Called Congress’ leading proponent of American manufacturing, Senator Brown is working closely with the Obama administration to create a national manufacturing policy that would invest in manufacturing innovation, strengthen this country’s component supply chain, connect workers with emerging industries and align trade policies to promote national interests.

The awards dinner, which also honored the inaugural class of the AMM Rising Stars, was attended by about 250 steel industry leaders from around the world at the Edison Ballroom in midtown Manhattan.

- Scrap Company of the Year (small/midsize) – Columbus Recycling Corp.
