AM/NS India Selects Primetals Technologies for Tandem Mill Build
06/09/2022 - Primetals Technologies has landed an order for a pickling line and tandem cold mill for a joint-venture mill in India.
According to the equipment supplier, the 1.9-million-ton line will be installed at AM/NS India’s Hazira facility and will produce grades for the automotive industry. AM/NS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel.
Primetals Technologies will be responsible for the design and supply of the main and auxiliary equipment as well as the electronics and automation systems. It also will supervise the construction and commissioning processes.
The tandem cold mill will be a 6-high Universal Crown Control Mill (UCM) and will produce in widths ranging from 900 mm to 1,890 mm.
The equipment is to be commissioned by July 2024.
