AM/NS India Plans New Cold Rolling Mill

The new cold rolling mill will feature a 2-million-tons-per-year pickling line and tandem cold rolling mill, a 0.5-million-tons-per-year continuous galvanizing, and a 1-million-tons-per-year annealing line, which will be India’s first line producing steel coils with aluminum-silicon coating, according to the company.

According to The Economic Times, work has already started on the new mill and commissioning is expected for 2024.

"The new processing lines are designed to produce new-age value-added steel, embedding the most demanding quality standards,” Dilip Oommen, chief executive of AM/NS India, said in a statement.

“Some of the latest products will be produced for the first time in India, thus reducing reliance on imports.”
