Alton Steel Employees Agree to New Labor Contract
10/31/2016 - Union employees at special bar quality maker Alton Steel Inc. have ratified a new labor deal, according to reports.
In a statement, the Illinois-based steelmaker and the United Steelworkers union said the agreement, which expires 30 September 2018, is fair to both sides and keeps the company competitive.
“This agreement will provide the customers of Alton Steel an uninterrupted supply of high-quality products produced by a dedicated workforce while maintaining a competitive manufacturing position," Alton Steel chief executive Jim Hrusovsky said in a statement.
The prior contract expired 21 September 2015.
