Alpine Metal Tech Acquires the GeGa Group of Companies
08/15/2014 - As of March 2014, the GeGa Group of Companies was acquired by Alpine Metal Tech (AMT).
This world leading company in the areas of pre-heating, torch cutting and scarfing now makes AMT the world’s premier manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of steel mill equipment from the ladle preparation area, through the casting process, and into the finishing areas.
As a part of this acquisition process that specifically relates to the North American market, the existing Alpine Metal Tech North America (AMT NA) facility in Boardman, Ohio, has been moved to the former GeGa location in Pittsburgh, Pa.
All companies within the AMT group doing business in North America for the steel industry have been centralized at this location including: Numtec, GeGa, Magnemag, Knorr and Makra. The benefits and improvements for our North American customers of all brands will be dramatic and implemented over the coming months. These include:
· Full manufacturing and repair facility for all machines and sub-components
· Robust Spare Parts Inventory for rapid parts shipment
· Service department offering on site preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance
· Sales/Engineering staff for technical sales and support and proposal preparation
· Project Management
· Custom technical solutions for a wide range of processes
