Allegheny Technologies Elects New Director

Allegheny Technologies Inc. announced the election of Barbara S. Jeremiah to its Board of Directors. Jeremiah’s election increases the number of directors to nine.
 
“Barbara Jeremiah’s extensive experience in the metals industry and her diverse international expertise will add significantly to what is already a strong Board of Directors,” said Pat Hassey, Allegheny Technologies Chairman, President and CEO. “We are pleased to have Barbara join us as we continue our focus on building shareholder value.”
 
In her new role as director, Jeremiah, 56, also was appointed to the Audit Committee and the Technology Committee of the Board. She will stand for election at the 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
 
Jeremiah brings to the board extensive experience with international mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic growth objectives. She currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chairman’s Counsel at Alcoa, Inc., and previously served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at Alcoa. Jeremiah is also currently a member of the board of directors of Equitable Resources, Inc.
