Allegheny Ludlum to Increase Silicon Electrical Steel Prices

ATI Allegheny Ludlum is increasing prices for grain-oriented silicon electrical steel products by approximately 26%.

Grain-oriented silicon electrical steel is used in the manufacture of power distribution and power generation transformers for the electrical energy market.

Allegheny Ludlum says the price increase, which takes affect with shipments beginning on August 1, 2005, is necessary for capital investment and growth.

Existing surcharges for grain-oriented silicon electrical steel remain in effect.
