Algoma Sees Exit From Creditor Protection Ahead
11/15/2018 - Canadian steelmaker Algoma is looking to exit creditor protection by 30 November and begin life anew as a standalone steelmaker, reports The Sault Star newspaper.
According to The Star, the company moved closer to concluding its time under the CCAA when an Ontario judge approved an interim agreement on the pension plan. The plan had been an obstacle to its exit, but the interim agreement will provide more time for some lingering legal issues related to the takeover of the pension plan to be resolved.
