Alfa Laval Partners With Outokumpu on Green Stainless Steel Solution
12/05/2023 - Heat transfer specialist Alfa Laval will begin buying low-CO2 stainless steel from Outokumpu under a new supply contract, the companies report.
According to Alfa Laval, it will begin using Outokumpu’s Circle Green stainless in heat exchanger production.
“This shift is significant, as Alfa Laval's heat exchangers can contain up to 80% stainless steel,” Outokumpu said.
“Alfa Laval’s heat exchangers are used in the energy transition towards a more sustainable energy supply, including energy efficiency, waste heat recovery and heat pumps. With Outokumpu Circle Green, these enablers of the green transition can be manufactured with an even lower carbon footprint,” the company added.
