AK Tube Plant Recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance
05/21/2014 - The Walbridge, Ohio, plant of AK Tube LLC, a subsidiary of AK Steel, has been recognized for outstanding safety performance by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene.
The recognition is part of a collaborative safety awareness program established by the Northwest Ohio Safety Council.

The Walbridge plant of AK Tube received the “Special Award for Safety” for operating 1,254,772 man-hours without a lost-time injury between 17 March 2009 and 13 June 2013. This is the fifth time that the plant has received this award.
AK Steel’s corporate-wide safety performance led the steel industry by a wide margin for the full-year 2013.
