02/08/2006 -
Feb. 8, 2006 — AK Steel will increase prices for zinc coatings by 70%, effective with shipments on April 1, 2006.
The company said that it is making the increase in order to recover the record high cost of zinc that is used to coat galvanized steel sheet products.
AK Steel will add the premium to its current pricing extras for all galvanized steel products, including ZINCGRIP(R) hot dipped, galvannealed and electrogalvanized products.
Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
