AK Steel to Increase Prices for Aluminum Coating Extras

Feb. 22, 2006 — AK Steel announced that it will increase prices for aluminum coatings by approximately 50%.

The premium, which takes effect with shipments on April 1, 2006, will be added to AK Steel's current pricing extras for all aluminized carbon and stainless steel products.

AK Steel says it is making the increase in order to recover the extraordinary rise in the cost of aluminum that is used to coat its aluminized steel sheet products.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
