AK Steel to Increase Carbon Steel Prices
09/02/2009 - AK Steel says it will increase spot market prices for carbon steel products by $40 to $60 per ton.
AK Steel announced that it will increase spot market prices for its carbon steel products, effective with all new orders.
Base prices will be increase by $40 per ton for hot rolled products, by $50 per ton for cold rolled products, and by $60 per ton for coated products.

AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels, primarily for automotive, appliance, construction and electrical power generation and distribution markets. The company employs about 6000 men and women in Middletown, Mansfield, Coshocton and Zanesville, Ohio; Butler, Pa.; Ashland, Ky.; Rockport, Ind.; and its corporate headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.
AK Tube LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Steel, employs about 250 men and women in plants in Walbridge, Ohio, and Columbus, Ind., producing carbon and stainless electric resistance welded (ERW) tubular steel products for truck, automotive and other markets.
