April 26, 2006 — AK Steel will increase spot market prices for its carbon steel products by $50 per ton. The increase takes affect with all new orders accepted for shipment on May 15, 2006 and later.

AK Steel said that it is implementing the price increase in response to increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as the need to recover higher costs for steelmaking inputs.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
