AK Steel's Zanesville Works Recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance
03/25/2013 - AK Steel's Zanesville Works in Ohio has been recognized for outstanding safety performance by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene.
AK Steel's Zanesville Works in Ohio has been recognized for outstanding safety performance by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene. The recognition is part of a collaborative safety awareness program established by the Muskingum County Safety Council and Chamber of Commerce.

AK Steel's Zanesville Works received the "100% Award for Safety" for operating the entire year of 2012 without any lost-time injuries or illnesses. The plant also received a "Special Award for Safety" for operating 4,248,816 man-hours without a lost-time injury between 21 April 2003 and 31 December 2012.
AK Steel's corporate-wide safety performance was five times better than the steel industry average for the full-year 2012.
AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels, primarily for automotive, infrastructure and manufacturing, construction and electrical power generation and distribution markets.
