AK Steel's Coshocton Works Recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance
05/20/2013 - AK Steel's (NYSE: AKS) Coshocton (Ohio) Works has been recognized for outstanding safety performance by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene.

AK Steel's Coshocton Works received the "100% Award for Safety" for operating the entire year of 2012 without any lost-time injuries or illnesses. The plant also received a "Special Award for Safety" for operating 1,126,942 man-hours without a lost-time injury between August 5, 2011 and December 31, 2012. In addition, Coshocton Works received the "Group Safety Award" for having the lowest incident rate in the industrial group, and the plant earned the "Safety Achievement Award" for reducing its lost-time injury rate by more than 25 percent over 2011.
AK Steel's corporate-wide safety performance was five times better than the steel industry average for the full-year 2012.
