AK Steel Completes Corporate Headquarters Move
08/30/2007 - AK Steel completes the move of its corporate headquarters from Middletown to West Chester, Ohio, a northern Cincinnati community.
AK Steel Corp. has completed the move of its corporate headquarters to West Chester, Ohio, a northern Cincinnati community. The company had announced in February that it would move its headquarters from nearby Middletown, Ohio.
The company’s new 136,000-square-foot headquarters building provides office space for approximately 300 corporate employees who were previously housed in Middletown. The company said all headquarters telephone and fax numbers are unchanged.
"We are excited to begin the next phase of AK Steel's growth and development in a new headquarters building that will help increase the quality, productivity and efficiency of our staff functions," said James L. Wainscott, Chairman, President and CEO of AK Steel. "The move to our new headquarters ensures that AK Steel's corporate team is better equipped than ever to service our domestic and international customers and support our manufacturing plants."
According to the company, its new headquarters features state-of-the-art technology, including advanced computing and communications capabilities, and facilitates more convenient face-to-face interaction with customers, suppliers and other important stakeholders.
AK Steel continues to have a significant presence in Middletown, including more than 500 managerial and support personnel associated with the Middletown Works, a research and development center and other functions, together with the company's largest steel plant.
AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
