AK Steel announced that it will add a $170 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in September 2009.
The company noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy it uses to manufacture the products. July 2009 purchase costs were used to determine the September 2009 surcharges.
