AK Steel Announces October Surcharges
09/21/2004 - AK Steel has advised its flat-rolled carbon steel customers that a $157 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for products shipped in October, an increase of $15 from September's surcharge of $142 per ton.

AK Steel also advised its electrical steel customers that a $295 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in October, up $55 from the September surcharge of $240 per ton for those products.
AK Steel advises that the October surcharges can be found on the company's website. The company also notes that, consistent with previously announced practice, the surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the August purchase cost used to determine the October surcharges.
