AK Steel announced that it will add a $940 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in October 2008.
The company noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. August 2008 purchase costs were used to determine the October 2008 surcharges.
