May 18, 2006 — AK Steel will add a $193 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat-rolled carbon steel products shipped in June 2006. For electrical steel products, AK Steel will add a $210 per ton surcharge for products shipped in the same period.

AK Steel notes that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with April 2006 purchase costs used to determine the June 2006 surcharges.
